Theme Presentation Reflection



 Racism


Group three had to research and give a presentation on racism. I believe they did a fantastic job in pointing out many significant events that had occurred throughout history. They demonstrated the origins of racism and present issues. Group three also talked about the different organizations and movements people have created over time. Such as Black Lives Matter, Civil Rights Movement, The Harlem Renaissance and much more. Although Racism is such a broad topic to talk about, group three was prepared and knew exactly what to inform us about.



The Pandemic/Health Care 


Group two presented and gave an amazing analyzes on the pandemic. The pandemic caused a lot of pain and suffering for many people. A large population of the world has been affected by our most recent pandemic, Covid-19. Most patients have even died from this illness. Not only has the pandemic affected our health but our economy and politics as well. Group two provided us with many facts and statistics of this. They even showed us a couple clips of how to prevent from getting sick. Even though the pandemic is still occurring, there are vaccines that are being produced to better the environment. 


Education


Group one did an incredible presentation about education. In the last couple of years, education has changed a lot. For instance, a couple years back schools didn't really have the luxury to use the technology like we have today. Now we are able to use the internet for nearly everything, even during a pandemic. Ever since Covid-19 struck, many students have been facing many difficulties with schools. Such as not being able to attend school due to the pandemic. Therefore, many students were giving the opportunity to do school virtually. Many students find it complicated but others actually enjoy it and rather study at home.

Reflection about chapter 3, 9 and 10

 Chapter 3: Intercultural Communication was an interesting chapter presented by Group 1, who did an amazing job. Intercultural Communication was about the definition of culture, all the different cultures that exists and how we can communicate with a person from a different culture. This chapter also teach us important aspects about communication, the seven dimensions in which cultures differ and strategies that we can use in order to communicate effectively. When we learn about a person from a different culture we expand our knowledge and our perspective to things and life. Furthermore, we learn that a person can be bicultural, many people in America culture may identify with one or more cultures.
