Reflections chapter 3, 9 and 10

Group 1:  Chapter 3 was presented by the group 1 and they talked about culture and communication. They did very well when it came to talk about Religion and Ethnicity. They discussed other subjects as well as Race and gender. They demonstrated that having a good attitude is the way to ensure a fluid

Communication and I really liked their presentation. Group 1 highlighted the key points very well. They first explained the characteristics that represents a culture. Then they were capable of discussing the unique points of each culture and the capacity of each culture to mix with other cultures at the same time. When comparing to other cultures with their cultures, it allows to find the similarities and the differences of each one and how they can improve. Finally we can say that they explained some points that other people probably don't understand and I was very impressed with their presentation.



Group 2: Chapter 9 was presented by the group 2 and they talked about the importance of communication in groups. They did a nice job because they explained the steps of creating a group and the importance of having good relationships when working on a group. In every group there is always going to be moments of conflicts or misunderstandings but each group should always being able to solve their problems in order to achieve their goals. They started their presentation with the definition of a group. Then they discussed the ranges of a group from family members to group of work. Also they explained the effectiveness of a group and their work ethics when working on a group. Furthermore, they defined the characteristic of a healthy group and how to solve the problems that they can get when working on a group. Overall they presented their subject very clear and they also included some videos that helped the audience to understand better.






Group 3:  Chapter 10 was presented by the group 3 and they talked about Leadership and problem solving. I was in this group and in my point of view this was the best subject to discuss because every leader has to help their group growth by implementing new ideas and achieving their dreams with courage. The leader must inspire their group by managing the tasks of each member of the group and ensuring that everyone is doing well. A leader is NOT A BOSS, a leader is someone that takes the responsibility of the group and find a solution for every problem that the group is facing. During this presentation, Group 3 started talking about the responsibilities of a leader and the role that they have.

They nicely and effectively showed the common steps that the leader take to find a solution for a problem that they are facing at the moment in their group. When the group and the leader of the group reaches a solution, there are many options to explain their solution and they have to select the best one. I'm considered a leader NOT a follower, that is why I really loved this chapter.

Reflection about chapter 3, 9 and 10

 Chapter 3: Intercultural Communication was an interesting chapter presented by Group 1, who did an amazing job. Intercultural Communication was about the definition of culture, all the different cultures that exists and how we can communicate with a person from a different culture. This chapter also teach us important aspects about communication, the seven dimensions in which cultures differ and strategies that we can use in order to communicate effectively. When we learn about a person from a different culture we expand our knowledge and our perspective to things and life. Furthermore, we learn that a person can be bicultural, many people in America culture may identify with one or more cultures.
